Russian models are storming the runways of London and New York. With their tall, thin bodies, high cheek bones and intriguing eyes, the girls are in demand.

For every international star, however, thousands of girls back home in Russia wait to be noticed. Everyday they make up their faces, go to castings and vie for the occasional shoot. Modelling is frustrating in a country where supply is abundant, fees are low and this business is sometimes associated with prostitution.
