Russian oligarch Alexander Lebedev at home in Moscow. Lebedev is a part-owner of the independent Novaya Gazeta news publication, which employs some of Russia’s most courageous journalists including slain reporter Anna Politkovskaya. Lebedev also owns London’s Evening Standard newspaper and is in negotiation to buy the Independent of London.
