An iron ore train travels through the Sahara Desert in Mauritania. Dubbed “the backbone of the Sahara”, the train measures up to three kilometers and is the longest in the world. Operated by iron ore mining company SNIM, it is also the world’s heaviest train when loaded. Locals hop on the train for free.
