Russian oligarch Mikhail Prokhorov at home near Moscow

Mikhail Prokhorov, Russia’s richest man in 2009, at his country residence outside central Moscow. Prokorov made his fortune in investments. In 2009 Forbes estimates his net worth to be USD9.5 billion, making him the world’s 40th richest person. Prokhorov is a bachelor and loves kickboxing.
Prokhorov sold his 25% stake in Norilsk Nickel to fellow billionaire Oleg Deripaska. He also stepped down as general director of metals outfit Norilsk two year ago after being detained on suspicions that he allegedly made prostitutes available to guests he was entertaining in the glitzy French ski resort Courchevel; though he was never charged. Soon after that, he split with his longtime partner, Vladimir Potanin.
