Weaving The Thread of Time

Justin Jin chronicles fashion designer Angel Chang’s journey from urban metropoles to the remote villages of Guizhou, China, where she discovers the intricate fabrics of the Miao and Dong minorities. Initially struck by these traditional textiles in the Shanghai Museum, Chang embarks on a mission to preserve and integrate these eco-conscious techniques into modern fashion. Through immersive stays and close collaborations with local artisans like Fei Fei, Chang learns to blend ancient craft with sustainable practices, creating a zero-carbon clothing line. Her story highlights the importance of preserving ancestral skills and the environmental impact of fast fashion.
